Victoria Falls or Hwange: choosing your base
Two places, two different travel days

Table of Contents
Start with the place where you sleep, then match each activity to its actual departure. Victoria Falls and Hwange belong to the same journey, but they are not the same base.
Stay in Victoria Falls for the falls and river
A town base works naturally for a rainforest walk, an Upper Zambezi cruise or a scenic flight departing from Victoria Falls. Check the exact hotel pick-up area rather than assuming that every property with “Victoria Falls” in its name is covered. A riverside lodge outside town may have different transfer arrangements.
Treat Hwange as a full safari day
Hwange is a separate national park. ZimParks describes the route to Main Camp from Victoria Falls as 172 kilometres to the Cross Mabale turn-off and another 23 kilometres to the park. That access differs from Robins Camp. Ask which entrance and camp your itinerary uses; a general “Hwange” label does not settle the journey.
Day safari or overnight stay?
The selected Hwange day safari returns to Victoria Falls the same evening and does not include accommodation. Staying near or inside the park creates a different itinerary: confirm the lodge location, access vehicle, meals, park charges and actual game drives in the booked rate. A lodge photograph does not establish an all-inclusive safari package.
Keep the countries separate
Victoria Falls town and Hwange are in Zimbabwe. Livingstone is in Zambia and Chobe National Park is in Botswana. A cross-border day trip is a different product with border formalities. The selected activities on this site depart from Victoria Falls; do not book them around an unconfirmed transfer from another country.
Choose the rhythm before the rooms
Write down your arrival airport, hotel, activity meeting points and onward departure. Keep the full Hwange day clear of flight connections. Compare a town stay plus day safari with a split stay, based on your available nights and preferred pace. Then read the room and cancellation terms for your actual dates.
